Five great strengths of Celestial Storm. The new set is here!

Hello everyone! This is Elena from Gaia Storm TCG and today I want to talk about something very special: the upcoming set Celestial Storm! The sixth expansion in the Sun&Moon era will be officially released on the 3rd of August and will bring many powerful dynamics to the game. Let’s see some of the strongest points of the set:

  1. Amazing draw power: Celestial Storm solves something that had many players worried since many powerful supporters were about to rotate. There are multiple cards in the set that will for sure be played in the S&M-On format because of their draws capacities. Acro bike is a great item than thins the deck  and sends things to the discard pile. On the supporters side, Tate & Lizia offer versatility and a decent amount of cards while Copycat (it’s back!) is incredible in certain mid-game situations.
  2. Great variety of GX: The iconic Rayquaza GX is, of course, the main attraction of the set due to its ability and power but what I really like about Celestial Storm is the different possibilities that the GX Pokémon bring. For instance, Shiftry and Blaziken focus on getting big knockouts while Stakataka, Scizor and Mr Mime bring a defensive approach, forcing the opponent to rethink carefully the amount of damage. Finally, Electrode (literally) explodes to charge all your field in an unique way.
  3. New useful items: Another great point about the set are the items. In fact, the set comes with new searching cards (Lure ball, friend ball and beast ball for instance), two powerful stadiums that can hurt many strategies and some cards like Paint brush, PokéNav and Hustle belt that are worth considering.
  4. Useful reprints: There are a number of staples that have been reprinted in this expansion, which is always welcomed. Rare candy, Super Scoop Up and Rainbow Energy are almost necessary cards for the game so I am glad this set gives player the opportunity to get them again and ensures their survival some more years.
  5. Two new dragon allies:  Dragon type Pokémon, as an archetype, have not been very popular in the past years due the lack of proper support. Now, however, Prism Star Latios & Latios might be just what this type needed, helping Dragon decks to get powerful energy acceleration as well as providing support for evolutions. If only Double Dragon Energy was reprinted in the set…

So, all in all, Celestial Storm is packed with great cards that will for sure impact the metagame as soon as they come out. Make sure to pick them here at CCG now that the pre sell is open before they fly! Thanks for reading.
