The next Best Deck!

Are you looking for the next Trevenant or Seismitoad item lock deck in the standard format? Well we have great news for you! With the new Sun & Moon set, anew MVP has been printed and his name is Lurantis GX. It's a stage 1 Pokemon with 210 HP! It's also a good thing is that he is grass type, so with forest of the giant plants, Lurantis GX can evolve on T1.

This card can be played with Vileplume from Ancient Origins set as well!. Why is that good combo? Simply put, both Pokemon are grass type, so they can take advantage of a Forest in play, and evolve on turn 1. With Vileplume in play, neither player can play items, but for Lurantis GX thats not big problem.

3 strong attacks can help to win a game quickly - Flower Supply can go for 40 damage, and can also attach 2 energy (basic) from the discard pile to any Pokemon, in any way you like. So we can have 3 energies easily in play on T1. Solar Blade can go for 120 with 3 energy and also heal 30 damage from this Pokemon - something like Zygarde EX, but even stronger. Chloroscythe GX can also for a single grass, 50 times for each grass energy attached to this Pokemon. So in theory T2 for 150! Yowza!

A few cards that can be good as tech are Wobbuffet with Bide Barricade (once we use Lurantis GX this is a K.O.) We can promote in front of Wobbuffet with a float stone, turn off the Vileplume ability, then play item cards and retreat to another Lurantis GX. Tauros GX is also good since he can hit for lot of damage with Mad Bull GX or even Rage.

Overall this deck has potential to be a good T1 deck in the standard format. It's strong against Greninja BREAK, it can easily beat Yveltal EX, and it can be strong against Giratina/Darkrai if you can take advantage of T1 item lock. The only problem can be Volcanion, since it is weak on fire - but hey, there is no Pokemon so far in T1 standard decks without weakness! Enjoy the new set!
