Get into the World of Pokemon TCG with the Celestial Storm set!

Hello Pokemon fans around the globe, Celestial Storm release day is almost here and we wanted to share few thoughts! First of all, if you are new to our store, be sure to register because with every penny spent, you will earn coins which can later be redeemed for a discount on your next order. Our main goal is to serve you best!

Now let's talk little bit about the Celestial Storm set. 168 cards are in this set, with 15 secret rare cards, making this a set of 183 total cards - one of the biggest Pokemon sets ever printed! Mainly all of the secret rare cards are Rainbow/Hyper Rare GX cards and some secret rare item/energy cards.

This is a really nice set overall, especially for competitive players and those who like to pimp their decks with gold cards. Many new GX cards will also be released in this set! Let's start first with the Shiftry GX, a decent card that will be interesting for the post rotation deck build, but still not that strong for the current Buzzwole meta. Blaziken GX looks really interesting, especially when it can be placed on the bench with the Ho-Oh GX attack. This card is popular in Japan because Blacksmith is still legal there in the standard format. Articuno GX can also be a good tech card, since it has a great one energy GX attack and the "Legendary Ascent" ability that can surprise your opponent with Ice Wing attack.

Electrode GX might seem like a interesting card with the Extra "Energy Bomb" ability that reads "once during your turn, you may attach 5 energy cards from your discard pile to your Pokemon". Expect GX or EX in any way you like, but if we do that, Electrode GX will be K.O.'ed, which means our opponent will take two prize cards and this might be a big problem.

Mr. Mime, however, with the "Magic Evens" ability, is one of the best cards from this set. It can prevent damage from attacks as long as that damage is exactly 20-40-60-80-etc up to 260. It also has a strong GX attack for a single energy that can heal all damage from it, as well as a "Breakdown" attack for two energy cards that put's one damage counter on an opponents active Pokemon for each card in our opponent's hand.

Banette GX is another great GX from this list. This card is really interesting. The "Shady Move" abiliby is broken in my opinion, as long as Banette GX is in the active position, we can move one damage counter from one Pokemon to another Pokemon. This can help us to get a K.O. if we miss 10 damage. Tomb Hunt GX is also a good and strong ability, much the same as the Decidueye GX ability. We can put 3 cards from our discard pile back into our hand - plus use "Shadow Chant" for a single psy energy to do 30 damage plus 10 more for each Supporter card in our discard pile.

Five more GX cards left and we are still not at the end. There is also Palossand GX, nothing special to mention from the competitive perspective. Alolan Raticate GX is an interesting "free energy“ attacker with insane Item Manic GX for free. Search your deck for up to 6 item cards, reveal them and put them into your hand. Wow!

There is also Scizor GX with the "Danger Perception" ability – if Scizor HP is 100 or less, its attacks do 80 more damage. Use "Steel Wing" for only two energy cards can attack for 80 and reduce damage for 30. The "Cross-Cut" GX can go for 100+100 if our opponent's active Pokemon is an evolution Pokemon.

Stakataka GX with the "Ultra Wall" ability is a really nice tech for any Ultra Beast deck. An interesting card for Naganadel GX, any Ultra Beast we have in play will take 10 less damage from our opponent's attacks. And of course the most hyped card from this set, Rayquaza GX. The "Stormy Winds" ability can help us to quickly get energy cards in play, by discarding the top 3 cards of our deck. When we play Rayquaza GX from our hand on the bench, we can discard the top 3 cards and attach a basic energy card from the discard pile to Rayquaza GX. The "Tempest GX" for a single grass can help us to discard our hand and draw ten new cards. This can be good for T1 - later we can also use advantage of the Hala. The "Dragon Break" attack will do 30 damage times the amount of basic grass and basic lighting energy attached to our Pokemon in play. This will be a nice deck with Vikavolt as a tech.

We are done with the GX cards for now - a few other good cards from this set are Jirachi prism star with Wish Upon a Star ability. If we took Jirachi as a face-down prize card during our turn and our bench is not full, before we put Jirachi in our hand, we can put in on the bench and take one more prize card. This can be a good tech in any deck, and it can win us a game.

Latias prism star is also a good tech for dragon decks - for a single energy card it can hit for 30 and attach a basic energy card from discard pile to one basic benched dragon Pokemon.

Latios prism star is another dragon type tech for dragon decks, that can hit for 50 times the amount of our evolution dragon Pokemon in play for just a single DCE!

Dunsparce could be the new Brigette for the post rotation with the Strike and Run attack, it can search our deck for up to 3 basic Pokemon and put them on our bench.

Magcargo is also reprinted from older EX era, with the "Smooth Over" ability, that can once per turn (ours), search the deck for a card and put that card on the top of our deck. This can be a good tech for Zoroark GX decks.

Manectric is also an interesting card with an ability like good old Talonflame, if we go second, and if this Pokemon is in our hand, when we are setting up to play, we can put it face down as the active or bench Pokemon. Double Charge attack for 40 for single lighting energy card can help us to attach up to  2 more basic energy cards from our hand to one of our benched Pokemon.

The last card on this list will be Deoxys with the "Psychic" attack - a good tech for any deck to coutner Buzzwole GX as the substitute for the post rotation Mewtwo from Evolutions.

There are also few more good trainer cards, for example Acro Bike is a good card as tech for Magcargo mechanic. An old/new reprinted Copycat supporter for a draw support, Fisherman, Energy Switch, Lure Ball, Rare Candy and Rainbow Energy.

This will be overall a great set for players and collectors.
