Looking for rogue deck? Check Shining Genesect

There are all different types of players - players who like to play top tier decks and players who like to invent and counter meta with something new, something that no one expects to be good. What’s current meta? Well, so far, everyone just spam Zoroark’s, Zapdos decks and PikaZekrom decks. I just decided to build something little bit different that can counter those decks with not to many problems. I decided to create a Shining Genesect deck and I think this deck has a lot of potential. The deck is a 130 HP Pokemon with strong Energy Reload ability (Once during your turn, before your attack, you may move a Grass Energy from 1 of your other Pokemon to Shining Genesect). In theory, Genesect can use a free Energy Switch with his Energy Reload Ability. On the other hand, it can hit quite heavliy with Gaia Blaster (50+ This attack does 20 more damage times the amount of Grass Energy attached to Shining Genesect).

In order to pay the Gaina Blaster attack cost, you'll need to have three Grass Energy attached to your Shining Genesect, but if we have a Venusaur with Jungle Totem on our bench, then each Grass Energy counts as two of them. So with only 2 Grass Energy cards and Venusaur in play, Shining Genesect can attack and it can hit for 130. This is not enough for 1 HKO against PikaZekrom & Zoroark, but it’s more then enough for 1 HKO against Zapdos. Now, how we can hit for 1 HKO vs Zoroark GX? In order to hit for 210 damage with Shining Genesect we need 2 extra Grass Energy cards on Shining Genesect. It is true that this is a bit difficult, but some other Pokemon can help us in that scenario, for example Shaymin with Flower Storm. Shaymin can hit for 30 damage times the amount of basic Energy attached to all of our Pokemon in play. Since Zoroark can use Acerola, and remove from play a damaged Zoroark, a double hit might not seem to be the way to go, but sometimes we won’t have another option. Plus, Zoroark will still be the hardest deck to play against with Shining Genesect. With a little bit of luck on our side, we can try to double hit K.O. or maybe even 1 HKO Zoroark GX with Shaymin. Once we go down to only one prize card, Pheromosa can hit for 180 with White Ray, it can also help us to 1 HKO Zoroark with Choice Band. Playing against PikaZekrom, Shining Genesect can have a huge advantage if we manage to setup quickly our Venusaur and Swampert in play. Attacking twice for K.O. against PikaZekrom won’t be a problem since we can take 3 prize cards as an award once we take a K.O.

The most important thing here is a “tank” - Arceus. With the First Law ability, Arceus will prevent all effects of our opponent’s attacks, expect damage done to it. With a single Energy card, Trinity Star can attack for 30 plus if we have grass, water and lighting Pokemon on our bench. We can search our deck for three basic Energy cards and attach them to our Pokemon in any way we like. Going second on T1 and attacking with Trinity star can also boost Genesect to the sky. Aether Paradice Conservation Area can help us in matchups against damage spread decks like Passimian and Tapu Koko. With Power Draw Swampert we can have some advantage with draw support, Marshadow Let Loose is also here as a tech, so it can also help in early game but it can also slow down a bit our opponent’s on T1.
